Personally, I can’t stand it when I hear celebrities talk about how they dont believe in God because they are somehow more enlightened or “free-thinking” than people who do. I think its completely arrogant, and I hope that they one day realize that they sound just as arrogant as bible-thumping bogots. The fact that they are speaking against God because they’ve seen some of the ugly and negative things that “Christians” have done means that they are letting others affect they’re own beliefs; how weak. I understand that they are entitled to their own opinion, but to stab at a God and a belief that some people hold very dear to elevate one’s self is a pretty low thing to do.

i feel like in the grand scheme of things, i do have a lot of friends but things dont always feel real. i moved around schools a lot so i met a lot of amazing people but never had a consistent group of people that just loved to be around each other. my interaction with people usually seem so forced an overly cordial and i think i know why. may seem obvious but real friends bear each other’s burdens; i find that i like a lot of people and people like me, but when it comes to what i’m passionate about, i find very few people in the same boat. i made the mistake of trying to make time spent with me seem so appealing, if someone’s really my friend, they’d enjoy the long days serving, praying, and watching God move with me.

i feel like for some of us, church has become an “experience” playground. not to say that experiences aren’t important but the fact that we sometimes do things out of a hunger for a revelation instead of devotion makes the idea that God loves the people around us seem so detached. I think the “experience” should always take a backseat to working hard and earnestly for the Kingdom, with me?

but then it’d be weird if I asked myself out.
